Children’s Equity Fund’s Enduring Commitments

In our last post, we spoke to you about the importance of both state- and federal-level policies to help address challenges in early learning success and family economic security. While we at the Children’s Equity Fund (CEF) continue to track critical efforts and legislation in the Early Childhood space, such as D.C.’s Early Childhood Educator Pay Equity Fund and the federal Child Tax Credit (which is set to expire at the end of 2025), we are also preparing to introduce our own recommendations and resources to guide the political discussion and action across party lines. In this post, we talk about our enduring commitments, which will shape the CEF’s approach to future policy positions and advocacy strategies.

The goal of these enduring commitments is to serve as our north star as we strive to serve as a trusted advisor and support to all our partners who dedicate themselves to uplifting young children and families so they can thrive. In pursuing these objectives, we commit to being:

  • Devoted to creating a society in which all young children and families thrive
  • Informed by parent, trusted caregiver, and practitioner voices
  • Dedicated to working across the political spectrum
  • Guided by examples of what is working in the real world
  • Focused on system-level change

We are energized by the prospect of putting these commitments into action through analysis and advocacy, and continuing to socialize the WeVision EarlyEd Policy Essentials, which serve as the inspiration for our five enduring commitments.

In the meantime, we invite you to learn more about the WeVision EarlyEd initiative, sponsored by our sister organization, the Bainum Family Foundation.
